The process of chimney cleaning removes dangerous combustible creosote build up in wood stoves, inserts and fireplaces. Creosote sticks to the walls of your flue and is the fuel for a chimney fire.
Creosote is a highly flammable substance that builds up in your flue with continuous use of a fireplace or wood-stove. An overabundance of creosote can quickly lead to a chimney fire. To prevent fires it is recommended by the National Fire Protection Association that fireplaces, and vents shall be inspected at least once a year for soundness, free from deposits, and correct clearances.
