Granite Ridge Chimney’s owner, Kris, is a second generation chimney sweep that has been involved in the hearth and chimney industry since before he had a drivers license. Interest in the trade of chimney service at an early age led him to be National Fireplace certified and a skilled hearth installer. Carrying a CSIA certification for over 10 years, Kris’ passion and love for his work has only grown.

Granite Ridge Chimney: Name explained
Granite:
1: a very hard natural igneous rock formation of visibly crystalline texture formed essentially of quartz and orthoclase or microcline and used especially for building and for monuments
2: unyielding firmness or endurance
Ridge
1: a range of hills or mountains
2: the line of intersection at the top between the opposite slopes or sides of a roof
Chimney.
1: a structure containing one or more vertical or nearly vertical passageways for conveying flue gases to the
outside atmosphere.
If you asked me to build the best chimney I could, I would tell you it would need to be:
- Made of granite for its strength
- Taller than the ridge of a mountain
- And build by a tradesman.
